Crestuma Lever Dam
The Crestuma-Lever Dam is located downstream of the Douro River, at the eastern end of the Municipality of Vila Nova de Gaia.
It is the last dam in the Douro before reaching the mouth. Started in 1986, the movable type dam consists of nine pillars 25.5 meters high, on which eight unloading gates and a navigation lock are supported along the left bank of the Douro. The reservoir extends for about 44km. It has a crown length of 470 meters. The installed capacity to produce electricity is 117 MW.
In addition to water storage and electricity production, it serves as a pedestrian and road crossing to the municipality of Gondomar, on the other side of the river.

Lomba Curve - Lomba River Beach
Lomba river beach is located on the left bank of the Douro River, at the end of a small peninsula formed by the winding curves of the river, where there is an inverted “U”, near the town of Lomba in the municipality of Gondomar. The beach is famous for its extensive sand, surrounded by a green pine forest and for the possibility of camping, with a very complete support infrastructure (parking, picnic area, barbecues, free campsite, café with terrace and outdoor showers). During the bathing season, from June 15th to September 16th, a team of lifeguards guards the beach, ensuring the safety of bathers.
